Greetings and welcome to the San Jose Chapter (CA) of The Links, Incorporated website. I am Katranker Thompson, the President of the San Jose Chapter, where we have a membership of 37 members, who in the past year contributed more than 3,000 hours of community service.
The San Jose (CA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated was inducted into National Linkdom on June 6, 1981. We proudly celebrate 32 years of service in the San Jose Community and with your help the goal of making a difference through friendship and Service has been met.
The Links, Incorporated is an international, not-for-profit corporation, established in 1946. The membership consists of 12,000 professional women of color in 276 chapters located in 41 states, the District of Columbia and the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. It is one of the nation’s oldest and largest volunteer service organizations of extraordinary women who are committed to enriching, sustaining and ensuring the culture and economic survival of African Americans and other persons of African ancestry.
For the 32 years, we have provided funds and volunteer services to community-based organizations serving needy youth and families in the South Bay areas. In 2002, our chapter established the Alice E. Foster Memorial Scholarship Fund for Santa Clara County Foster Youth committed to higher education. To date we have provided over $10,000 in scholarships.
We are excited and committed to our facet programs, community partnerships and our annual fundraiser. We look forward to your participation and support, as we strive to make a difference in the lives of those in need.
